Thanks to the generosity of supporters around the world, the U.R.G.E. Foundation and its partners have officially surpassed their initial fundraising target of $100,000 to support rebuilding efforts in Jamaica following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
The outpouring of support from donors, volunteers, and community partners has made an immediate impact. Because the need across affected communities remains significant, organizers have announced a new fundraising target of $300,000, allowing the initiative to rebuild more homes, restore communities faster, and extend support to even more families.
Special recognition goes to Ziggy Marley, Orly Marley, and Michelle Gordon whose dedication and efforts have helped rally support from friends, family, and partners near and far. Their leadership, along with the collective generosity of both named supporters and anonymous donors, made reaching this milestone possible.
Additional thanks go to Arizona’s Family TV Station, Jamaica Observer, and Rolling Stone for helping amplify the campaign and bring wider attention to the urgent need for recovery support.
Through partnerships with organizations such as Food For The Poor, the funds raised will directly support the construction, rebuilding, and restoration of homes for families who lost everything in the storm.
The foundation encourages anyone who has been considering contributing to join the effort. Every donation, share, and act of support helps move the rebuilding process forward and brings renewed hope to communities across Jamaica.
