The Urge Foundation was honored to participate in this year’s Early Childhood Commission Professional Development Institute, which was held in Jamaica this past weekend. With the generous support of our community, the foundation was proud to sponsor 50 early childhood educators to attend the conference and also provide meals for 10 children.

This year’s theme was “High Quality Early Childhood Care and Education: A Child’s Right, Not a Service.” Meaning early education is not a luxury, but a fundamental right. Teachers and participants explored this principle through interactive workshops, professional networking, and hands-on training designed to strengthen their ability to support young children’s learning, growth, and development.

By empowering teachers with knowledge and resources, and ensuring children have the necessities to thrive, U.R.G.E. continues to invest in a better, more equitable future for all children. We give thanks to everyone who helped make this initiative possible and remains committed to uplifting children and communities across the island.
